The paint has an orange peel texture from inproper technique. I view orange peel more as laziness. It’s not hard to remove orange peel, it’s can be time consuming but it’s worth it. If I where to take my truck to get painted, I expect them to take the time to finish the paint job correctly and not cut corners. The way that the clear coat is flaking from top down is pretty much normal wear for that old of a car. It does help to garage the car or keep in shade. Otherwise, normal. Paint will last on average 10 years in the heat of it all. But “some” new cars flaking within 4-5 years.
