It isn’t directly the fault of students but dining halls. This is because dining facilities can’t always accurately predict the amount of food students will consume, leading to large amounts of waste daily.The JMU Edible Forest Garden (EFG) project broke ground in Fall 2021 with the planting of over 100 trees and shrubs on JMU's east campus. The JMU EFG works to advance the mission of the university by offering unique and innovative educational and service-learning opportunities for students, alumni, staff, faculty, and community members.Dining Services has partnered with The Pantry on a Dukes Punch for Dukes program. Students can donate a punch at certain meals throughout the semester. Dining Services will then donate punches to The Pantry to distribute to students.
