Your build was pretty close to my first build just dex and int changed and less vigor. And I tried so many builds to finally beat Melania and with your build, I beat her first try thank you was stuck there for days. Rivers of blood worked very well against her for me personally. Huh, nice.

It's basically Unsheath (from the Uchigatana), but with added energy beams. Katana is pretty slow and doesn’t do as much damage. Honestly wasted 2 levels to get the 12 str. Katanas seem shitty to me so far tbh. Strictly PvE (but applicable to PvP) and pre-patch, it was the weapon art. Deals massive (ultra greatsword level) damage but comes out much faster, was spammable, poise broke very easily, has poise itself. Pair it with the ring that heals HP and fp on critical hits, and you just spam weapon art on bosses, poise break, crit, repeat.
Moonveil is still good, since Sword of Night and Flame was nerfed. The fact it doesn’t stink as quickly is resolved by Mimic. Rivers of Blood is solid, unless the enemy can’t bleed. A lot of people have moved on to the Moonlight Greatsword from Rannis quest but people have mixed opinions in it. Blasphemous Blade from Rykard is still good.
