Then there are six or eight screws holding the rubber cover shown in the video at 1:00. Four bolts holding the shifter in, as shown. Very easy procedure.:thumbsup:

It also lists New part# 683600086AK and #68378743AK, although I don't know that any parts were actually updated.I have the same problem, taken it to the dealer here in LA for it twice, once they reflashed the trans computer. Pull the rubber at the base of the handle away from the column ,You should see a nut/ bolt at base ,I think it's a 10 mm tighten it up good. This will take care of the loose shifter.

Raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. 3. Disconnect the shift motor and the mode sensor connectors. 4. Remove the shift motor and mode sensor assembly mounting bolts and separate the unit from the transfer case. 5. Installation is the reverse of removal. Replace the shift sector 0-ring with a new part.

It happened with about 300 miles on it. Message was service shifter. Systems started shutting down while driving ie ABS , traction control, ride height control etc. The the transmission shifted into low. I was on the freeway and could only drive 25 mph. 5.7 Hemi. Could be a lazy solenoid in the transmission, or a solenoid (or end switch) not getting a good voltage or good "I'm in Park now" signal back to the computer. A lazy solenoid could be caused by lousy wiring. There should be a large multi-pin connector on the rear of the transmission on the passenger's side.Service Transmission Message ?
