Nov 9, 2005 · Took our 02 EX to the dealer with 41k on the odometer. I changed the engine oil myself this weekend only to discover an oil soaked compressor. Result was a $2k repair that Honda is going to cover out of good will. It is out of warranty. I am being asked to pay $200.00 and probably will but I think I will also contact the 800 number.

Hi, I just changed out my bracket on my 2011 pilot. It's a little work but easier than taking off the AC compressor. Just unbolt both the AC compressor and the alternator. Moved them aside and boom access to the bracket. Keep in mind also easier if you remove the tensioner as well. Good luck!

Once that is out there is a cover over the expansion valve that has about 10 screws holding it in. Remove that cover and then unbolt the expansion valve and line assembly coming from under the hood.
