Sig 716i vs ruger sfar.
I was looking for the 716i but the shop ran out of them. Some guy had sold the 716G2 to the shop right before I got there so he could get a SCAR17. Lucky for me the dealer cut me a deal and I got the 716G2 instead of the 716i. I probably would have enjoyed the 716i just as much, but this gave me a reason to try a short stroke piston rifle.
POF makes innovative stuff that looks very cool. My experience has found that POF quality is sometimes lacking and they don't really stand behind their products. I'd definitely go with the Ruger. Sig 716i heard good things, but also heard customer service/support sucks, and I have no clue on Aero because I don’t know much about them. The Aero and Sig have a 16-16.5in barrel and the SFAR have two options the 16in or the 20in barrel.

Nov 27, 2022 · Sig 716i (have) or a Ruger SFAR 16” would be my current “AR” style 308 pick. The Ruger RPR in 308 is a beast around 19 pounds fully set up. I think the RPR is better served in the bigger cartridges. Not the greatest portable bolt gun after mine was done. Sig CROSS looks like maybe something I should have done. The current 308 brass flingers.

I think the 716I can perform alongside its older sibling, the 716 G1 & G2 Piston guns probably to the surprise of many.
