I like the shotgun on a sniper rifle. My free roam sniper rifle uses an ultra-short barrel for SVGs. It makes it easier to aim in close quarters and looks better on the character, but it can only fit a shotgun. The shotgun is nice though, since I wouldn't have or use it otherwise.
