When I open the cylinder, where I'd expect to see the model and serial number (at least on a new smith) - I only see 627-pc, no serial number. The left side of the barrel says Performance Center. The right side of the barrel says .357 Mag-8 Times. The trigger and hammer are jeweled (unknown if at factory or if by a gunsmith afterwards.)

One of my 686-6's shows a box date of 20 June 2015...I bought it 8 July '15. My other 686-6 is out of town right now so I don't know the box date but I bought it new 15 Feb 2009. Serial nmbers CYH and CLZ respectively. (Great minds huh, Jonesy) Pay attention - it pays to win!
