Lancer is a TTRPG. It is simpler than D&D and does not use a "class" system. Rather, you unlock mech frames (think choosing Monarch), and unlock modules over time. So you can have Northstar with phase shift, if you unlock the phase shift module (this is an example, mechs are complete different from the TF2 Titans).
