How to lock subaru while running.

Basically sometimes I get in my car and start it, or maybe I stop at a convenience store or have a passenger in my car so I get out of the car and prefer to leave it running, but want to lock the car. I know the remote start keeps it locked until you get in the car.

Otherwise you wouldn't be able to lock the doors driving through a bad neighborhood. My understanding is that the lockout prevention only works if the engine is not running and the ignition is off. Well, after 45 seconds and help from my 11 yr old daughter, we came up with 2 different ways....common sense folks.... First-. The only locked wheels on the Auto Subaru are the front wheels when the parking pawl is locked ie been parked. Like.
