If you want to figure out if it is the sender or the gauge (not likely the gauge) you could measure the resistance at the connector with a full tank of gas and compare it to the resistance with an empty one.According to the PDF installation instructions I've got from them, it seems that it should work (single hole brackets for front, and one bracket for the rear, center). The easiest thing to do seems to be to replace the ashtray with another switch bezel complete with 12v power outlet. I'd need a part number on the bezel itself if anybody has it.
