My 2012 Rancher has the ES and power steering, which, for me, is perfect, but others like the foot shift. It will cause your clutch to slip and wear out very quickly. A lot of guys recommend Rotella 15w40 diesel oil. It doesnt have the friction modifiers that regular car oils have that cause clutch slippage. I use Honda oil, and the Honda oil filter.If you did not look closely at the shift motor reduction gears, then remove the shift motor again and make sure the gears that engage the shift motor shaft turn when you manually shift gears with the manual shift tool. Shift up from neutral, and back down, while looking at the gears.
