Jul 9, 2018 · 2016 Ranger 900 XP Ground Issues. New to the forum and this is my first post. Last night I was out checking water tanks and mineral tubs on the Polaris. I shut off the machine to do a few things. When I went to start it up again it would not even turn over. The dash display was blank and there was a clicking under seat coming from the EFI relay.

It sounds just like what was going on with mine early on. Almost as if a linkage was disconnected inside. Adjusted the striker and it solved the problem. If your Ranger shifts fine except when you park on a hill and then you can't get it out of park the problem is the parking pawl won't release because of the pressure applied to it from being parked on a hill. Your belt is probably getting wore into an hour glass shape due to the load. Seen this on generals, ranger and rzrs when using high and starting out on inclines or with heavy loads. If it is, you'll need a new belt. You could try using low range if you haven't already.
