The 300 Norma requires the same XL-sized action as the 338 Lapua Mag because of its large cartridge case and it recoils more than the 300 PRC.

The 300 is 10" less wind for a full value 10 mph wind. Drop is a win for the 300 with 129" less drop. The both go subsonic in the 1900 range so thats a wash but even there the 338 only hold about the same 120-150 energy lead all others in the 300 favor. But with that said as a hunting rifle I really like the 338NM.He builds very fine shooting rifles that are designed for long range hunting. I've shot the 300 PRC side by side with a 338 Lapua in the gentle Nebraska breezes at 2K. Blowing 17-20 that day. I did not feel under gunned. And yes I have a 300 Norma also but I'd rather throw 75-80 grs. of powder in the case vs 90+ Speaking in pure accuracy terms 30's will always be more accurate than a 338.
