Hey guys, so I have a 2020 3.0 duramax and almost every time I shut it off I get this sound that sounds like it’s supposed to happen, but I’m not entirely sure. Posting a video I found of another guys truck that does the same. I’ve been told 3 different things, EGR valve cycle, throttle plates adjusting, and turbo waste gate cycling.

What you are describing is the common type writer tick. Very common after an oil change. Basically you get some air trapped in the lifter oil passage and it takes a bit of time for it to work out. When my LMM does it it takes 30 to 50 miles for it to clear up. Some claim that T6 or Amsoil are more prone to this.

No its not hurting it. You can try & find another oil brand thatll maybe reduce the tick noise, or you just live with it. I use Rotella T in my LMM & Mobil Delvac Super in the LML.
