In the past I have gone on-record saying I don't feel the slide ports on the X-Macro comp make much difference in terms of recoil mitigation. Stay tuned for today's report. As a point of reference, I also own a P365XL (2020 era) in stock form with X-ray sights. I used the P365XL to provide a frame of reference in contrast to the P365 X-Macro comp.

The barrel on the X-Macro Comp is the same 3.1 inch as the original standard model. It does not extend to the end of the slide so comp cuts on the slide are beyond the barrel and does act as a comp. I have both a P365 & a P320 (M18 with X-Compact grip) and my first thought was the same as yours. But then I realized for anything but range plinking (and maybe a nightstand gun) I honestly prefer the P365... making a slightly larger P365 makes more sense IMO than trying to make a 'small' (cuz it still ain't) P320.

Sig XL slides ~ $349.00, Sig barrel ~ $220....I would buy a complete P365XL before buying parts. I did make the move a bought the X Macro Comp. I picked it up this morning. Superior black nitride finish on the Guide Rod Cap. The perfect upgrade for used Recoil Assemblies as Sig Sauer recommends in their P365 User Manual (page 41) to replace the recoil spring assembly every 2,500 round intervals. Compatible with Sig Sauer P365, P365SAS, and P365X.
