Kara has more weight in the midrange, sounding more robust than Freya S. Massed/solo strings and pianos sound rich and sweet through Kara. It is not only problem with Schiit. A trick is to plug in device only when prompted by the installer or after installation is finished. For now you must unplug device, uninstall Schiit drivers, then reboot computer.
