I later learned from this subreddit that henna and indigo powders should not be pre-mixed. Henna and indigo have very different dye release times and HCL doesn't tell you that, at least for the pre-mixed colors. Henna takes 1-4 hours (depending on henna type) and indigo takes 20-30 minutes to dye release.
Tip: do it in the bathtub, just remove shower curtain, bath mat etc. I put a little face mirror on the cabinet in front of me and literally sit in the tub.
