2003 Ford Escape: I think its in limp mode..Wont..MPH. I have a 2003 Ford Escape. I think it's in limp mode. Won't go more than 20 MPH. I don't find any vacuum leaks and have changed the EGR valve (it had a small crack). Strange thing is that there's no Check engine light! Any ideas? My immediate fix is turning the key to the on position (not cranking the engine); once the tuner fires up I go menu>diagnostics>continue>clear DTC's; then crank the engine.
