The small historic town of Shoshoni (named for the Shoshone Tribe) lies between Thermopolis and Riverton. This beautiful Wyoming state park is the largest in the state and surrounds the state’s largest reservoir, Boysen Reservoir.
Tables 1 and 2 contain a summary of the Boysen Reservoir sedimentation and watershed characteristics for the 1994 survey. This is a nice park with direct access to the Boysen Resevoir. It has many beautiful campgrounds at various places around the lake. Keep in mind the central focus for recreation revolves around watercraft, so without one it might be boring. There are no facilities for Rv's other than a dump station.
